AOL and Google have agreed a new five-year search ads agreement, which will expand the service to include mobile search and YouTube.

The companies will work together to cover mobile search adverts and AOL will be publishing online content onto video site YouTube.

Google will provide AOL with new ad formats that will offer a more targeted service to users and additional search features will be added to the AOL website.

The two firms will share the revenue that they make from these search ads and hope to continue their ongoing partnership.

Tim Armstrong, chief executive and chairman of AOL, said: "It's an upgrade to every aspect of the old deal. This deal is a lot of revenue and a lot of potential profits for AOL."

Chairman and chief executive of Google, Eric Schmidt, stated that the company was excited about the deal, especially the expansion into the mobile search market and videos.

AOL has recently updated its UK news page with a greater focus on video content. Live streaming from channels such as the BBC and France 24 will now be available at the site, reports RealImpact.
