Arqiva's new video on demand (VOD) service will be called SeeSaw, according to Pierre-Jean Sebert, the chief executive officer for the project.
The TV transmitter infrastructure company is set to launch the VOD platform in "the next few months", Sebert explains, adding that further announcements will be made in due course.
Arqiva recently bought the technology for the vetoed Project Kangaroo, which was a joint venture planned by BBC Worldwide, ITV, Channel 4 and BT.
The new arrangement is "to all intents and purposes" the same as the previous collaboration between the TV networks, which was ruled out by the Competition Commission on antitrust grounds, reports paidContent:UK.
However, there are no concerns surrounding ad sales and content acquisition with the new set-up, the site adds.
As well as bringing in Sebert from British Eurosport to lead the project, Arqiva appointed former UKTV controller John Keeling as platform controller ahead of the SeeSaw launch.
The announcement from Arqiva comes during the same week that the Mipcom conference runs in Cannes, which will see representatives from the audiovisual content industry gather for seminars and discussions related to the sector.
