Social network Facebook has unveiled its app centre in the UK after a successful launch in the US.

It enables consumers to find games, music and media content in one place.

Apps available on the centre include the popular Draw Something, Pinterest and some extra European-based services, such as French music streaming site Deezer.

The centre is not restricted to Facebook apps as it also indexes those available on third-party sites or other mobile app stores.

Facebook will also recommend apps based on ratings from other users on the social media site as well the ones that their friends are using.

As well as being available on the website, the centre can be accessed on both Apple's iOS and the Android platform.

The service was first announced in May 2012, with Facebook engineer Aaron Brady saying at the time: "Well-designed apps that people enjoy will be prominently displayed. Apps that receive poor user ratings or don’t meet the quality guidelines won't be listed."

Facebook agreed a partnership with Yahoo! on July 6th to share and deliver premium content and online advertising across both sites.
