Satnav giant Garmin has revealed updates to its navigation apps that will enhance their social media connectivity.
Garmin StreetPilot and NAVIGON apps will now be able to check-in at their destination through the new Foursquare integration, while Glympse users can now share their locations and lets others follow their route.
The apps will also be connected to Wikipedia so that travellers can find out more about landmarks they pass, the firm revealed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
"Social media integration of services such as Wikipedia, Foursquare and Glympse are a great addition to our navigation apps," said Joern Watzke, vice president of Garmin.
"The fully integrated features allow our users to stay connected with friends and family and offers real-time access to points of interest and special deals."
Garmin's mobile navigations apps are available through the App Store and Google Play and the update will become available close to the end of March.
