News International has won the rights to show clips of Premier League football highlights on all its digital platforms.
This covers 380 matches and means that the media giant will be able to screen "near-live" videos on mobile devices, similar to what is offered through the ESPN Goals app at present.
The deal will last for three years and will begin at the start of the 2013/14 season in August.
News International's newspapers, the Sun, the Times and the Sunday Times, will be able to show the clips on their mobile platforms.
They will be able to show eight 30-second clips during live play and then extended 60-second clips after the action has finished. However, the 15:00 GMT kick-offs will not have any highlights shown during play and instead users will have to wait until the matches have finished at 17:15.
The rights are currently divided between two firms, with ESPN owning the mobile content and Yahoo! the digital.
"This is a major breakthrough for the company, allowing us to combine our rich heritage with cutting edge technology to transform the experience we are offering our subscribers," said Mike Darcey, chief executive of NI Group and former chief operating officer of BSkyB.
