Microblogging website Twitter and business networking tool LinkedIn have announced a new partnership that will see user updates on the sites become in sync.
The websites can cross file to each other's services by checking a box on either one of the portals.
Biz Stone, co founder of Twitter, and Reid Hoffman, founder of LinkedIn, released a joint video statement on the new collaboration.
In the message, which is posted on the LinkedIn blog, Stone says: "The business use case of Twitter is turning out to be very important and more and more people are finding that the persona they create for themselves on the web is part of their resume in many ways."
Meanwhile, some LinkedIn users will have experienced a new site navigation experience recently because the network is in the process of testing a fresh design.
Changes, which will be rolled out more widely if successful, include the introduction of a global navigation bar at the top of the site's homepage, providing "convenient access to all LinkedIn services".
Overall, the site is aiming for a "cleaner, less-cluttered look", according to network's official blog.
