Yahoo 'signs search deal with OneRiot'

Yahoo! has signed a deal that will see the service offered by OneRiot integrated into its own search engine product, industry reports suggest.

According to TechCrunch, the collaboration with the real time search engine will allow Yahoo! to challenge Microsoft and Google after these two firms recently announced partnerships with Twitter and Facebook.

News of such a development comes from one of the internet weblog's sources, but Yahoo! claims that it "can't comment on rumour or speculation".

"Real time search is important and we're currently conducting several tests designed to discover if showing such content is useful to people using Yahoo! Search," it adds.

Yahoo! recently launched a new multimillion dollar marketing campaign, designed to place the brand at the centre of people's online lives.

The campaign, which began in September, uses the tagline that Yahoo!'s service "is all about Y!ou". It does not reflect a great deal on the company's products, but functions more as a reminder that the firm still opertaes in the wake of falling traffic in recent months.
