2009 H1 Online Adspend Results

These are the IAB’s online advertising spend figures showing details for the first half of the year in 2009.The online industry continued to show growth in a very tough market place.

This tracking study, dating back to 1997, represents the official industry figures and acts as the barometer for the health of the market.

  • Online adspend in H1 2009 reached £1,759.6m
  • Spending on internet advertising grew by 4.6% (on a like for like basis) when compared with H1 2008
  • Online’s share has grown to 23.4% for H1 2009, 18.7% for H1 2007 making online the UK's single biggest advertising medium)
